01. Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport

Undoubtedly my favourite album of 2009 was the sophomore album from Bristolian duo Fuck Buttons. Like their 2008 debut Street Horrrsing this album is packed to the rafters with noise, distortion and waves of energy but unlike the often tribal rhythms of the aforementioned, Tarot Sport utilizes future sounds to produce something more uplifting than opressing.

The album is constantly shifting through noise patterns unleashing new walls of sonic beauty upon your ears. From the club track gone schizo antics of opener Surf Solar (sampled above) to the elevating bliss of standout track Olympians. Tarot Sport continues to excel far beyond its goals or ambitions.

It really is an album that I could listen to all day. From waking up in the morning to drifting off at night. From relaxing in the living room, feet up to anxiously and excitedly preparing for a night out Tarot Sport has me covered leaving me feeling overwhelmingly happy. And that is something that hardly ever happens, especially when it comes to noise.
